Visit Perak Year 2012 received a timely boost when a couple, who are Y’s Men Club members, from Bjert, Denmark, visited several locations in the state.
They are expected to return home with information on the tourist spots.
The visit by Y’s Man Bent Junker Hasnen, 72, and Lady Y’s Man, Ruth Elizabeth, 68, is an honour for Y’s Men Club of Ipoh and the state’s Y Service Club.
Y’s Men Club of Ipoh (project and finance) director K. Letchimanan said the couple promised to promote Ipoh’s tourist attractions among their friends and families in Denmark.
They were met on arrival at Kuala Lumpr International Airport KL Berbakti Y’s Men Club members.
The couple were driven around the state and shown places of itnerest including the Sam Poh Tong cave temple, Gunong Lang, Kelly Castle and Clear Water Sanctuary.
They were also taken to the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar to visit the Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery and the Royal Museum Ubudiah Mosque.
In Taiping, they had the opportunity to enjoy the scenic Lake Gardens, night safari at Taiping Zoo, the museum and the Taiping Prison and Kamunting Detention camp.
In Ipoh, the couple visited Sunway City before proceeding to Tambun.
They also mingled with inmates of the Day Care Centre managed by Perak Society for the Promotion of Mental Health in Ulu Kinta.
They were welcomed by society president Datuk Dr M. Majumder.
The couple were shown the “Ipoh Tree” in front of the Ipoh Railway station before they boarded a train to Kuala Lumpur.
