Kuala Sepetang (Port Weld) is a fishing village that is located in Perak. It is a thriving fishing village, and the main jumping-off point to the river mouth community of Kuala Sangga, which is a Chinese fishing community at the river mouth which specializes in fish breeding in cages. It just takes a 40 minutes drive from Taiping.
The Port Weld railway station is located in the center of the town. This is the first railway line that builded in the Peninsular between the fishing village to Taiping. The signboard, ticketing booth and the dismantled railway still remain at the Port Weld railway station.
Don’t miss out on the eagle feeding. There are many eagles that will be roaming above the mangrove forest of Kuala Sepetang. The boatmen will pour chicken oil into the river to attract the eagles attention to come a little closer.
Makanan Laut Kang Koa is a restaurant built above a fish shed on a river. A hotel is sharing the same entrance with the restaurant. The restaurant is occupying a wide space. Here, they offer a special dish-curry prawn loaf. The curry and prawn are filled inside a loaf, and of course the loaf is edible. Seafood is a must here, as they are always fresh, plus the beautiful riverside view.
